Why “205”?

205 is the telephone area code for Birmingham, Alabama and its surrounds — including Bessemer, the hometown printed on his LSU Alexandria roster in 2015–16, 2016–17 and 2017–18.

Where does the nickname come from?

No source explains the origin. What is published is what it means on the floor: the Danny Rumph Classic wrote in 2024 that “Bodybag is both his name and his game,” describing a night of hammer dunks, and he told them “let people know if Bodybag is on your team, it’s a real dub.”

Was he really the No. 1 pick?

Yes. BIG3’s own post-draft roster release for 2024 lists him on the 3 Headed Monsters under coach Rashard Lewis, and BIG3’s official account posted “The #1 draft pick Brandon Moss” in June 2024. He now plays for the Chicago Triplets.
